Industrial design metal chair: “Stephan”

This industrial design metal chair called “Stephan” is solid, elegant and absolutely uncompromising. With its commanding presence, it is made for large rooms, exposed concrete and industrial lofts where design is allowed to take centre stage.

From a single piece – without offcut. What makes it special is the radical production: the chair is laser-cut (or plasma-cut) from a single metal sheet and bent without a millimetre of waste. First we bend the backrest and seat out of the solid material in Kirigami style – folding over the armrests gives the object its final, striking form.

Dynamics you can feel. Although it is made of solid steel, Stephan offers a surprisingly flexible seating experience. The construction is calculated so that the seat gently flexes under the user. The result is a comfortable, dynamic feel in an otherwise rigid material.

Material & finish:

Steel variants: available in classic black steel, timeless stainless steel or characterful Corten steel.

Aluminium edition: as a premium variant we also make this chair from ten-millimetre anodised aluminium.

Finish: black steel and Corten steel are sealed with high-quality clear lacquer.

Upholstery: removable pad of 100% wool felt in yellow, red or blue.
